Next, our itinerary takes us to Rissani, renowned for its vibrant and bustling market. The atmosphere you encounter while strolling through Rissani’s souks is truly unique in Morocco. Following a short break in the Rissani market, our journey will continue through stunning desert panoramas characterized by the dominant black and brown stone formations, leading us to the Draa Valley. Here, the culture, architecture, and way of life differ significantly from the rest of the country, offering a plethora of delightful surprises. The main attractions are the Kasbahs and mud castles, emerging from the arid land and adorning the valley with their splendid architectural beauty.
Afterward, we’ll continue our journey to reach Agdez, a sizable village marking the gateway to the valley. An exceptionally picturesque location appeals to tourists seeking photo opportunities. We’ll proceed through the Ait Saoun pass, reaching an elevation of 1660m (5447 ft.) above sea level, offering us the chance to admire the striking natural rock formations sculpted by time. We’ll take a pause along the way for a lunch break during our long day.
